Among the neocon elite it is fairly obvious that Rudy Giuliani is their man. He is in with FOX News and the other corporate elite. So the question comes around eventually: Once Giuliani has the nomination, who will be his vice president? People usually assume automatically that the presidential nominee will pick whoever is strategically best to win the nomination, and often times people also guess that this pick will come from the rest of the pool of party candidates. John Kerry picked John Edwards to “win the south”. Would Giuliani pick Huckabee to win the south? Personally, I don’t think so.
I’m quite ready to say that Rick Perry is going to be Giuliani’s running mate. Take a look at his biography. Perry was the Lt. Governor of Texas during George Bush’s reign, then assumed office when Bush resigned. Qualification as Bush’s “chosen one” for Texas? Possibly. Qualification two: Perry never received 50% of the vote and has a large dissatisfaction rate. Getting only 39% in your re-election is daunting to your prospects of being that popular in the state again.
Perry has been active in getting new Republicans elected to the Supreme Court of Texas, a leading proponent of the Trans-Texas Corridor, and has tried to mandate all girls in Texas be vaccinated against cervical cancer. Looking at his record, Perry fits the bill of a totalitarian vice president.
It’s not a small thing to suspect a man to be the vice president of the United States in the future, but Perry has buddy-buddied with Giuliani by endorsing him for President. Perry is often seen as a more social conservative, but in the George Bush style of “all talk no do”. This might help Giuliani in the general elections when he will be trying to make sure all of the social conservatives vote for him rather than splitting off to vote for a third party.![]()
Rick Perry is the perfect candidate. He is involved with the Trans-Texas Corridor (North American Union anyone?), forced vaccines (sounds like a conspiracy to me), stacking the courts (FDR-style) and endorses what I consider the most unconservative Republican for the race to the oval office.
Looks to me like Giuliani is will be picking Rick Perry for his vice presidential running mate. Perry has little chance of winning Texas again, he is part of the Republican establishment, a sure inheritor of all things George W. Bush, and now good friends with Rudolph Giuliani, neocon extrodainaire. Is there anything missing from the list that would make him less acceptable as a candidate for the VP slot? I don’t see it, if anything there appears to be even more dirt on Perry that I’m not even going to get into.
I’m calling it ahead of time: If Giuliani gets the nomination for president, he will pick Rick Perry to be his vice-presidential running mate.

Convincing. I buy it.
The NY Sun just ran a lengthy piece about Huckabee’s orchestrated efforts to position himself as Rudy’s No. 2.
