The head of ObamaLA is now a Ron Paul supporter. I guess he realized the Federal Reserve really is a problem, or that Obama isn’t quite as pro-freedom as he thinks (Though, I suppose, better than the rest).
Here’s his comment on his site now:
My name is Marc Whittemore. I started the original grassroots group ObamaLA and carried it until it was 2,500 people strong. Having done substancially more homework now I am inclined to switch my vote.
Make no mistake about it — I think Obama would make an AWESOME President — far better than any other stale “part of the problem” Democrat running. However. In case you have not noticed America is picking up “flush momentum” and going down the tubes FAST. We no longer have time for rehersals or inexperience. We MUST get it right and get it right this time. We don’t even have the luxury of voting along party lines if we are to get it right.
And so. Even more surprising is that for the first time in my 32 years of voting I will be voting for a Republican president. And that Republican is Ron Paul. Listen people. And take the time to listen CLOSELY to Ron Paul — because, like the last, we can ill afford one more drastic idiot mistake in the White House. Lives depend on making the right choice — indeed our entire nation depends on the right choice this time.
Sincerely,
Marc Whittemore
Los Angeles, CA
I applaud Marc’s vision that he can overcome decades of party affiliation in order to do what is right. However we can not expect that the right man or woman will become president, even if Ron Paul or another like him reaches the white house we need people in the congress. Dr. Paul has stood alone for 30 years and I think it’s time we begin to prepare ourselves to take up his charge. Even if we do not feel that we are adequate to stand beside him we should at least follow his lead or support and encourage those that do. Just as the republican party has been hijacked these past ten years so too can we retake it from the inside.
Ron Paul has said that it is too hard to create a third party, the system is against it, so lets take over one of the existing ones. Lets do it now so that even if the right president is not elected this year we will have hope four years from now when things may be a little more clear to the American people.
Oh wow, the ObamaLa blogger is jumping Barrack Obama’s ship because Obama is not experienced enough. I thought that that would be thee easiest problem to ignore for an Obama supporter. Welcome aboard, Obama La, we appreciate it, although, it wouldn’t be a total exaggeration to place bets on when this person returns to the left?

How do you even know that this letter is authentic?
I’ve noticed that the information are from the same location, http://www.obamaLA.com, and other links that have this information did get it from this same link. I’d like to make sure that this information isn’t flawed at all. Can Marc make announcement on public or local news?? Wouldn’t that make sense??
Interesting - you have to be informed to understand what the heck Paul is even talked about. Most people today are entertained - not informed. They hear the word “honor” and that’s good enough for them!!
Unfortunately for a lot of us out there, to get a candidate who’s not all gung-ho about bombing Iran, devaluing our currency, and keeping us in ridiculous wars against vague, ill-defined enemies, we have to go with a loon who believes that vague, ill-defined hippies really want to stop him from openly celebrating Christmas, who tacitly accepts the support of white supremacists groups, who favors closing down the border rather than the more obviously ‘libertarian’ solution of open trade and labor relations with all nations who’ll agree to appropriate terms, and who is trying hard to retard our medical and scientific progress by banning or severely limiting stem-cell research.
We shouldn’t have to pick between power hungry warlords and isolationist kooks.
JoeBlu: While I believe you are wrong on a number of points, I will take issue with one here. Ron Paul has said many times that if it weren’t for our present entitlements system that rewards people for entering the U.S. illegally, and if it weren’t for our welfare state that allows some individuals to siphon off the prosperity of other individuals, we would probably WANT the immigrants, as many as we could get. A larger labor pool means our economy can grow faster. However, with our present system in place, we need to check the stream of illegal immigrants so they don’t drag us into the ground.
I’ll make another point, too. Ron Paul believes strongly that stem-cell research is vitally important to medical science now and in the future. He is against expending human life to do that research, a point with which you can agree or disagree. Above all, though, he is strongly opposed to using TAXPAYER money to fund research. He’ll let the free market incentivize stem-cell research.

I hope you don’t believe that can be done through “Voting”. Seems the “one party system” has that process is rigged to the hilt. (Just ask Ross Perot) And while you are at it you might research the subject and get that real sick feeling that we are in real trouble. http://truthadventure.blogspot.com/

Lets just pray there are a few “noble floaters” that believe in human rights, truth, justice, and equality that simply won’t go down no matter how many times they flush.

I’ll vote for Ron Paul.
If he’s not on the ballot, I’ll vote Libertarian.

We need to reduce the size and scope of the federal government. The FEDs are a monster, that needs to be cut down. Dr. Ron Paul has a consistent track record of limiting the federal government.
Thank you Dr. Paul for thirty years of work. America is catching on to the message!
It might be time to bring back the peoples “Civil” Flag of the United States.

I’ve been a Ron Paul supporter for almost a year, but i started as an Obama supporter. I, like Marc, do not think Obama will make for a bad president, but Ron Paul definately made a lot of sence in many of his proposed policies. He speaks the truth, and what he believes, and this is a great quality in a politician. I just recently attended a speech given by Obama at Penn state, and I believe Obama too speaks from the heart… honestly, I haven’t been following his campaign as well as Ron Pauls, But I do want to give him more attention. I’m still supporting Ron Paul, even if he is unlikely to be our president. People who call him crazy really haven’t paid attention to what he talks about. Ron Paul is coming to speak at penn state on April 11th, and I will be there for his support. Overall, I’m glad to see people wanting a change on capitol hill, whether they support Obama or Ron Paul.
