Nanny-state bill passes the House and Ron Paul stands alone as Dr. No, again

Off of the campaign trail and back in Washington for this vote, Dr. Ron Paul stood with only one other House member to vote against the latest nanny-state legislation. The bill, H.R. 3791, is summarized as saying it will “Modernize and expand the reporting requirements relating to child pornography, to expand cooperation in combating child pornography, and for other purposes.

No one is for child pornography unless you’re some sort of mentally sick person. The problem is, nowhere in the Constitution of the United States is the authority given to the Congress or to the President, or even the Courts, to regulate pornography. If pornography is to be regulated, it should be left to the states to decide. There is a huge problem in this country with government philosophy. The role of government is not to tell us what to do, especially on a federal level. If you have differing opinions, then work in your state government to increase the programs, welfare, schools etc. Don’t make me in my state pay for your state’s problems by violating the US Constitution.

The final roll call came in at 409 to 2, the dissenters being Representatives Broun and Paul.

I’m waiting for the neocon-brainwashed conservatives to use this as a reason to hate on Dr. Paul for being a “sicko” or “immoral” or some nonsense when he is clearly being a principled man.

  1. Bravo, Doctor Paul. Bravo.

“The day the federal government touches you on a daily basis is the day we need to overthrow it.”

The coming election is going to determine a lot of things…

People need to wake up. That’s all there is to it.

  2. The federal government doesn’t want it to go back into the peoples(nation states) hands for child pornography probably wouldn’t have a chance to be a viable option for perverts. Then the federal government wouldn’t be able to tax you to death on the supposed war against child pornography. Let the people speak!

  3. I salute Dr. Paul for his Integrity. If the rest of the Government Bureaucrats just had 1% of the Integrity that this STATESMAN has then I believe that they NEVER would have allowed the President to attack Iraq.

I know Dr. Paul will now be attacked by the other Neo-Cons, including the MSM Neo-Cons, but I will support him 100% in his decision.

On another note if the RonPaulBlimp is going to be able to launch to arrive in Boston on December 16th to celebrate the 234th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party they need to raise another $75,000 IMMEDIATELY.

Donate from $10 and above and let ALL your contacts know about this. The Publicity this Blimp will create is priceless.

ONLY A Doctor WILL HEAL Our Country,

  4. Another application of my mantra - Educate don’t legislate. Thank you Ron!

And to my fellow Christian friends - any Bible argument that we are to obey the laws of our leaders, begins with those leaders obeying the law of the land.

  5. Again, Ron Paul stands up for everyone.

If the government really cared about stopping child preditors, they would stop letting them out of prison just so that they can lockup somebody for pot or unpaid parking tickets, etc.

Yes, I’m talking about Giuliani and Huckabee, both of which let out child preditors who went on to do it again!
