Mike Huckabee: Quarantine AIDS patients (among other things)

The Huckster is at it again. Yesterday we ran a piece on the Inquirer that is the beginning of a comprehensive guide to demolishing the record of the formerly fat governor. There’s new information out today that I feel we should bring to the forefront: Mike Huckabee wanted to isolate AIDS patients.

“If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague,” Huckabee wrote.

Nothing short of anti-freedom and another step towards fascism. We already know Huckabee believes government should be used to help control people’s weight and to implement a national smoking ban, but to take AIDS patients, lock them in a cell, or quarantine them in a hospital or nursing home type area for the rest of their life? I don’t think so.

There is another report that Huckabee thought homosexuality wasevil,” which in my opinion, is a perfectly legitimate opinion. The Politico and other sites are harping on it, but I have no problem if someone views homosexuality as evil if that is what they believe their religion says to do, as long as there is no government force involved to try to “force” homosexuals to stop being “evil.” The problem in my opinion, is more of a funny one. With the recent scandals involving so many Republicans and Christian leaders who, while leading the “anti-gay” lobby in Washington, have been outed as carrying on homosexual affairs themselves, is it too much to wonder if Huckabee could be among those?  I’ll stop insulting the formerly fat governor in that sense, he has not made anti-homosexual laws the priority of his governorship or his presidential campaign so that’s probably idle speculation with no fact to it.  The truth is, though, Huckabee is a scary person.

Are you ready for the government to tell you what you can and cannot eat? Where you can and cannot smoke? Are you ready to find out your friend who was born with AIDS has to be moved to a cell block in the middle of no where, never to be seen again? Then vote for Mike Huckabee.

  1. One of the reasons I couldn’t tolerate the Republican Party is because there’s a sizeable contingent that has absolutely nothing to do with conservatism if by conservatism we’re still talking about limited government. These are the folks who not only want to overturn Roe v. Wade, an actual conservative goal, but who also want to pass a Human Rights Amendment - decidedly unconservative. That’s just one example.

It’s too bad that Huckabee has become the champion of this contingent. That might mean he’ll get the nomination. Sensible, truly conservative Republicans need to head to the polls this primary season to see to it that doesn’t happen. I can’t imagine a President Huckabee at this point.

  2. I have a feeling Huckabee doesn’t even know what AIDS is, especially after calling it a plague. And his membership in the CFR does not help his credibility one bit.

If there is something that is evil in this world, it is those people and all the elites that consider themselves “superior” and us nothing more than cattle.

The only Republican that has any chance of going against Hitlary and her goons is Ron Paul. All the other ones are mere puppets meant to distract us.

Gouliani was their first choice, but he’s gone. After the story of his firm protecting known terrorists got out, Huckabee started receiving all the endorsements.
