The latest attacks in Israel are wrecking havoc. With Hamas claiming responsibility, I think we are about to see Israeli retaliation like we haven’t seen in a long time.
If the Israelis start excessive retaliation against Palestinians, I think we might see the Bush administration make a link to Iran in some fashion. Rush Limbaugh himself expects Bush\Cheney to “take care of” Iran before Bush’s second term is over with. Whether militarily or not, I expect that as well.
Hamas and Iran connections will start to secrete into the news.
It seems unlikely this will start World War III in the same way WWI and II were started, but the number of possible conflicts we have right now that could be serious is at an all time high. Israel and the Middle-East, terrorists in Iraq, and the Bush administration trying to take down Iran. On top of that you have Russian opposition to almost all the United States is doing, especially on the missile defense shield.
And we can’t forget the Serbia-Kosovo conflict (which I will say I agree with the Russians on).
If some sort of large scale conflict breaks out in the Middle East and southern Europe (they’ll probably happen within a week of each other if anything big happens), expect China to take the opportunity to invade Taiwan. The United States will not be in any position to guard Taiwan, I think China would be stupid to ignore the opportunity to retake the island.
Lastly, we mustn’t forget Pakistan, tensions there are still quite high.
All that said, the United States should stay out of every conflict, but our current leaders aren’t about to do that.

Actually, this is World War iV; WW III was the Cold War. The casualties in Southeast Asia, Central America and elsewhere can attest to that conflict’s status as a ‘real’ war.
WW4 is against Islamic extremism (extremism being the important word) and pretty much had been going on for quite awhile. It just wasn’t recognized as such by most Americans early on; 9/11 changed the preception more than the facts.

People around the world are reading both sides of the Middle East conflict(s) and making their OWN decisions, instead of having their perceptions controlled by the mainstream media. The thinking person can only arrive at one conclusion: GENOCIDE is undeniably taking place, and it ain’t against the Jews this time.
So far as I can tell from over here in the cheap seats the US isn’t squatting on Mexican, Canada, Cuba or Venezuela claimed territory, so Digital Art’s analogy is worse than bad; it’s insulting.
Genocide by the Palestinians is only going to happen if they just keep asking for it. My wife’s people (Nationalist Chinese) were displaced at about the same time as the Palestinians, and also still long to ‘return home’.

I only have this to say: let’s pretend we went into Rwanda and saved the tutus (or whoever it was getting killed). What if we prevented that genocide, then we left, and the Tutus turn around and kill the other group?

Israel and the American Diaspora notoriously donate thousands of dollars to elect corruptible American presidential and congressional officials, who then repay Israel a thousand fold from precious tax revenues; with millions of dollars worth of technologically advanced military equipment and services, and with the priceless lives of thousands of young patriots.
Any governmental official, either elected or appointed to office, who accepts campaign donations from a foreign power is categorically guilty of treason; and justly deserves the death penalty, if the repayment for the political donation causes the loss of American lives.
