John Kerry on Fallon’s resignation

Sometimes it seems there are more important things to worry about, but Fallon’s resignation should be the most important. This takes me to something Senator Kerry said yesterday.

“Congress needs to determine immediately whether Admiral Fallon’s resignation is another example of truth tellers being forced to the sidelines in the Bush administration,” said Senator John Kerry, the Massachusetts Democrat who lost to Bush in the 2004 election. “His departure must not clear the way for a rush to war with Iran.”

I agree with the Senator, but you would be hard pressed to make me believe he truly believes what he just said. He wasn’t against the Iraq war in 2004 (if we had an alternate universe time machine I would bet every dime I have we’d still be in Iraq today if Kerry had won), much like Hillary and Obama aren’t completely against it today either.

Politicking at its best. But a good quote, nonetheless.
