It seems that ex-Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura, who won as an independent some years ago, has been considering a 2008 run, saying that he can’t be apathetic about the way things are going in the country.
As a critic of the two party system, I would welcome Ventura (maybe even support him), along with welcoming Nader, the libertarian and constitutional party guys, etc.
We’ll have to see if Ventura gets in, and how successful he could be. My guess is he wouldn’t be a Ross Perot in terms of poll numbers, but he would do somewhat better than Nader.
