  1. Wow……..this song SAYS IT ALL!. Some guys just don’t understand the real struggle the average american deals with. She should have mentioned a silver spoon some how ……

  2. And the average American has no clue of what ‘real struggles’ are, Norm. And I was one a few years ago myself, until I woke up.

These people know what it is to struggle.
    And so do these.
And the second fellow pictured here (the first thanks his lucky stars every day)..
And, of course, this young lady..

As I said, the ‘average American’ has no clue and- in relation to most of the rest of the world- is insanely pampered.

  3. Struggle is a relative word. Here in America we see minor struggles as something major because we have built society around advancing beyond your means–when people can’t do it, they think they are “struggling”.

Americans will be struggling soon enough when the depression hits really hard thanks to the Central bank. It’s time to panic.

  4. It’s not time to panic, Lance. Worrying might be a good idea though.

I wonder though what we think about someone like Pink making a statement like that. Sounds a little self righteous to me, especially because I don’t see her serving the poor of the inner city on weekends. She’s right that Bush has lived a pampered life, even compared to most Americans, but this song does not “say it all”.

  5. I’l be happy to grab that pompous bleached elitist by the scruff of the neck and put her to work in Africa. Right along side Owen Wilson.

  6. [...] the Average American’ Posted on April 9, 2008 by Mike O This phrase was used in a comment here and got me thinking about what a tall pile of male bovine excrement it represents.  We’ll start [...]
