Clinton Goes Nuclear (On Iran)
During an interview on Monday night, Hillary Clinton clarified her position on war with Iran: if Iran were to attack Israel, especially with any sort of nuclear weapon, she would retaliate with the U.S.’s own nuclear arsenal. Coming on the eve of the Pennsylvania primary, it seems like Clinton is trying to send a strong message about her foreign policy positions.
Yet, though a statement like this may distinguish Clinton from Obama, it makes her seem even more similar to McCain. Can this possibly bode well for her prospects of victory in the general election? I don’t think Democrat voters want a candidate who talks about more wars and more bombings and who parrots Republican foreign policy rhetoric.
At this point, I don’t think anyone doubts Clinton’s toughness or her resolve, but this sort of talk is machismo to the max. Why is it so important to remind the world at every opportunity that we have nuclear weapons? Does this make us seem stronger, more free, or more idealistic?

Easy. It wins votes from Republicans.
No, it wins money from the pro-Israeli lobby, but makes her sound completely nuts. Talk about desperation on her part! And totally unnecessary, since Israel has a nuclear arsenal that would glass over most of Iran easily (and-if struck with a nuclear weapon- would do so without waiting to confirm where the nuke came from).
Frankly, out of the three, her power hunger makes her the most dangerous. I’ll be glad when she’s gone…after digging out all the things about Obama that Obama ‘doesn’t want to talk about’. McCain’s crew can’t do it, because the howl of ‘Racists!’ would be defeaning. You see, the MSM won’t flat make that charge against a Democrat; at least, not very loudly. But the GOP are a bunch of cross-burners, in their eyes. (Ironic, when it was Southern Dems actually burning the crosses- including a seated Senator- and the GOP fighting them.)
Myself, I couldn’t care less about anybody’s skin tone; too much variation in my own family for that. But the most liberal Senator we have with a single-page resume isn’t my idea of a good president.
I know Republicans who are voting for her because she is “strong on the war on terror”. More than McCain.
