John McCain is sound in body but old in ideas, thoughts and policies
John McCain responded to Barack Obama’s charge that he is “losing his bearings” by retorting to Obama that he is not “old.” Obama has not and will not inject “age” into this campaign because that is not his style. I would be deeply offended if the Obama campaign did use “age” as an argument in Obama’s favor. it should never be used by any candidate.
He can and will attack McCain on his old ideas, thoughts and policies. And those ideas, thoughts and policies are indeed very old. A man (or woman) should not be judged by age, although health could be a legitimate issue; however, it is clear that John McCain is of sound body. Of that I have no question.
What I object and how Obama will defeat McCain is the issue of his “conservative ways” and tendencies which will set the country back another four years. John McCain would simply be a third term George W. Bush. This Presidency will turn out to be one of the most destructive in American history. He will continue the war, cut taxes (although he opposed tax cuts), waffle on immigration, appoint the wrong justices to the Supreme Court and other federal courts, he is wrong on health care. The list is endless.
During a back and forth barrage recently, McCain claimed that Hamas is supporting Obama for President. As if Hamas votes or has influence here. It is clear that McCain is continuing this “fear-mongering, I’m the only one that can keep you safe crap.” I don’t feel safe with Bush in office and I don’t need a President that will further inflame our enemies. I’m looking for words, not actions. I’m looking for new ideas. In with the new. Out with the old. Ideas that is. Reading on Walden Bookstore.

John McCain is superior to every other candidate running for president, as well as every other candidate that has EVER run for president
Does that mean McCain is better than Jefferson?
I don’t think anyone of any repute is arguing McCain is the best presidential candidate ever. So let’s assume tylerberger has nothing better to do with his time than make lame, facetious comments on blogs before and after masturbating to his old Scooby Doo VHS tapes.
As for McCain, I am hoping that he won’t waffle on immigration. I know that he has during the election season, but I get the sense that was pandering. The same kind of pandering the democrats did to voters in Ohio regarding NAFTA. In other words, I think he’ll do a better job on immigration that Bush. And I think that because he has a vested interest in it and has taken a lot of crap for his controversial views/ bills. If nothing else, it’s clear that he cares.
McCain isn’t right about healthcare, but neither are the democrats. I’d like to see a system that emphasized the individual over the corporation, but McCain’s solution is simply too little. $5000 for a family’s medical expenses if paltry.
For a decade now I’ve watched my country being taken over by fear, hate, injustice, lies. For crying out loud the list could be to long to keep interest going to read.
I don’t think any one candidate can fix this mess. It’s the people of this country that need fixing. We’ve had a”farther of the country” farthers for that matter and it only gets worse. Perhaps it is time for a “mother of the country” to take over.Forget Black and White after all these wannabes are still “farther of the country”wannabes………I never thought I would back a Clinton but I’ve been thinking about the way she has managed though all the turmoil in that family’s life for the last 2 decades ( it could be a mask of deceit) but it’s a gamble with either candidate. She has kept that family united and strong as far as I can tell.Perhaps if she can squeak this out she should be given a chance.
Simple but go the point.
“Simple but go the point.”
I meant to say “Simple but to the point.”. I should get in the habit of proof reading before I submit….mybad!.
jslfe, I strongly disagree with McCain’s immigration policy but respect him for not waffling on it and most other things nearly as much as than most politicians. Heck, in Iowa, he told them that he didn’t think farm subsidies were a good idea. he does pander, but at a level about an order of magnitude below the Dems.
McCain himself would tell tylerberger he needs therapy. Another point in McCain’s favor is that he isn’t full of himself; his late night routines prove that well enough.
Old ideas? True, Marxism newer than Jeffersonian democratic ideals, but I wouldn’t consider it preferable. And there is no question the FARC Marxist guerillas have documents their strong preference for an Obama presidency. And the Hamas preference has been clearly expressed and undeniable.
McCain has waffled to the point where he said he wouldn’t even vote for his own bill anymore, but you’re right, he has more integrity than Obama. Take the example of the gas tax holiday. Obama criticized it for being a political trick (true), despite having supported the ridiculous stimulus package earlier this year. Economists were largely against it then, but Obama knew he had to look like he was acting on the people’s behalf. “Know hope.” Yeah, right.
