Instant Runoff Presidential Voting

If James Ostrowski were to be writing the candidates in order on an instant runoff ticket (and could only use each name once), his list would look like this:

Just so people know where I’m coming from when I do political analysis, here’s my preference list for President:

1. Ron Paul
2. Libertarian Party nominee
3. Nader
4. Clinton
5. Obama
6. McCain

I try not to let my personal biases affect my analysis but they probably do anyway. If I spend so much time on 4 and 5, it’s because that’s where I think the next President will come from. Though anything could happen in this crazy year.

I am in virtual agreement with him, though I’d probably place Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party above the Libertarian nominee.

As for Clinton being above Obama, I think the problem there is with Obama, the Left will be romantically involved with him for the next 4 to 8 years as they were with Bill Clinton. No one in the American populace needs to have their faith restored in a president who isn’t committed to free markets and against the war. Obama might be “less bad” than McCain and Clinton, but his personality and cult-like following are dangerous. People will be blindly ignorant of the effects of his policies (as many supporters are now, no offense to the Obama people here on the Inquirer, just my opinion) and will continue to praise him until his wife runs for president and he makes racist remarks in South Carolina or something.

  1. What is your biggest beef with John McCain?

  2. He’s a traitor to the conservative cause.
