Anthony Gregory on Obama:
He’s been sounding a lot more like FDR, lately, as with his call for national service, national greatness, and a bigger national military. The conservatives say he’s an anti-war liberal, a McGovernite rather than a cut from the mold of great Democrats of the past — FDR, Truman, JFK — today’s conservative heroes. I fear that they are wrong.
I have my own suspicion the draft is more likely to return under an Obama presidency, be it in a military fashion or for “national service” programs.
