Politicians/Elites Don’t Care

It seems, that one of the major topics at this years G8 is the food crisis occurring in parts of the world, a problem that looks like it will grow steadily in the future. Recently, the U.K. government has, as the drudgereport called it, gone to war with food. Numbers have shown that about 1/3 of food bought for consumption in the UK goes to waste, therefore stores are being pressured not to sell bulk deals for food. I’m sure this is just a taste of what is to come in the UK.

And at the G8 summit, right before talks on the food crisis, British PM Gordon Brown, had an eight course dinner. Oh yeah, he also had a six course lunch, that’s — count it — fourteen dishes in his first day at the summit. Just hours after he called on British families to cut back on wasteful use of food.

Due to this, I am proud to add Gordon brown to my nickname list: Gordon “Al Gore” Brown.

  1. Of course, all the food we’re shoving into our 6,000+ pound SUVs isn’t helping.

  2. Well, it’s easy to talk than to “walk the talk”.

  3. Dude are you kidding? That’s the best story I’ve ever heard. I think Gordon Brown’s my new hero.

  4. In defense of Gore, he has stated that he has planted enough trees on his property to compensate for the C02 emissions of his mansion.

Arbor Day, probably the most important day of the year.
