If there is not full and complete disclosure to start the thing.
“Madam moderator, before I respond to that, I would like to ask you that don’t you consider it a ethical problem that you, as moderator of this debate, have not only expressed strong biases on this election but also have a substantial personal financial interest in this election coming out in my opponent’s favor?”
Then she can settle back in and debate the way she’s done before.
I have never thought the press is above questioning themselves (a family trait: my mother, as an elected official, forced a reporter into a recorded admission of libel in the 60s. The newspaper got real objective after that and we never sued). Bias is one thing: actions so one-sided as becoming an in-kind contribution is another.

We have three possible outcomes:
1. She blows the competition away. She might, but I will not bet any real money on it. This outcome might seem to give McCain a little bit of help, but it refocuses the campaign on him. Result: zero or even a net loss for McCain.
2. She does mediocre ok. I expect this. The campaign refocuses on McCain. Result: net loss for McCain.
3. She falls in the tank. Unlikely, but possible, considering Couric’s interview. Tina Fey has a heyday. Result: BIG net loss for McCain.
The ratings should be HUGE and the spin and the lies afterward will be equally huge..
Or Biden comes off badly, making people question Obam’s judgement. Net plus for McCain; fairly possible, but not probable.
Jack,
Your first option is not well thought out on your part (but then what is). If she ‘blows the competition away’ then it would clearly refocus attention on her again, and thus create Obama (and all you little Obamatron’s) great panic.
No worries though, Biden’s very good at holding his own as long as he’s not being completely ignored in a debate (I allude to the Democratic primary debates in which Clinton, Edwards, and Obama tended to suck all the air out of the room).
“clearly refocus attention on her again”
I don’t think so, ‘losh.
She is only a story as long at there is something to be a story about. Incompetent is a story. Anything else is “dog bites man”
And Mike, I still think it possible they both lose.
As long as they don’t ask Biden any real questions he will do ok.
Palin: her first statement should be that ‘if McCain dies during his first term, I will govern as a true conservative (originally a liberal as Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, etc.) and not a democrat in republican clothing. I will do my best to restore liberty and create a return to the Constitution form of government we are supposed to be living under. I will repudiate the Bush doctrine and will not lie to you the American people. Now for the liar and plagiarizing Mr. Biden, let’s get it on.’ But alas, me thinks that she will be like the rest of the so-called conservatives – a squeaker.
I don’t think so, ‘losh.
Well duh Jack, it’s not as if your even remotely in line to win any awards for informed critical thought. Lets see, first there was the ANWR thing, then there was your stab at psychological diagnosis headcase you say has ‘Dissocial Personality Disorder’ though he still manages to have the ability to maintain enduring relationships (just an oxymoron perhaps, but probably just moronic); oh and lets not forget the federally criminal nature of ‘rumors’… It’s not the world Jack it’s your brain!
She is only a story as long at there is something to be a story about. Incompetent is a story. Anything else is “dog bites man
She’s one of -if not the- most popular Governors in the US precisely because she has been effective. She’s established a pretty solid rep for getting stuff done and not just yapping on and on about it… I mean, how many politicians can we point to that are known for actually doing their job (there’s not many that come to mind for me).
This isn’t about her competence but about Obama’s ostensibly piss-poor record in the Senate. Even after noting Harvard, the community organizing, and all the well articulated and rousing scripts… uh I mean ‘speeches’… the guy’s record as an elected official clearly shows he’s less than useless. And his associations -in addition to his campaign contributions- show him to be… (corrupt is too strong right now)…lets just say, bent…
I doubt that will happen but FTR, the absolute worst thing that could happen to Obama’s ticket tomorrow will be if Palin manages to blow Biden (the shark who’s suppose to be having her lunch tomorrow) you the waters. They have her were they want her right now, but her doing well would be a total disaster for Obama…
I said: the absolute worst thing that could happen to Obama’s ticket tomorrow will be if Palin manages to blow Biden (the shark who’s suppose to be having her lunch tomorrow) you the waters.
That shout be out the waters
Crap, I did it again! I’m going to sleep…
“the guy’s record as an elected official clearly shows he’s less than useless.”
McCain has been an elected official for a quarter century and the record he has compiled is, what, two or three bills of any importance at all. There is your useless.
” And his associations -in addition to his campaign contributions- show him to be… (corrupt is too strong right now)…lets just say, bent…”
Mafia, Keating 5, drug addict wife, embezzling wife. There are your associations.
Obama’s a crackhead you dork!
Lincoln said: “Find out what brand Grant drinks and send a case to all the other generals.”
or something like that
