The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials.
The long-planned shift in the Defense Department’s role in homeland security was recently backed with funding and troop commitments after years of prodding by Congress and outside experts, defense analysts said.

How about using them on the border, where the drug runners (often Mexican police) are armed like they were the military? Considering the continuing bloodbath on the other side of the border, that would be a proper use of them (i.e. protecting us from foreign enemies). Not politically correct, though, so don’t count on it.
How about we just save everyone the trouble and legalize the drugs so they’re not worth enough to kill over?
Hear hear! Legalize the drug use but keep it illegal to sell it(IRS can still seize drug money) and deter drug use at a private level is a very simple way to lower the street price.
If you want to receive a paycheck, you may have to prove you are clean by peeing in a cup for your corporation every now and then. The higher your sick days and late arrivals the more likely you will get tapped on the shoulder. If you want to receive welfare, you may have to do this more frequently.
If you are a day trader at home who uses cocaine to stay alert, sniff as much as you want. But your insurance company may require testing and additional fees if you are found to be a user just like smokers. If you have received a very large inheritance and want to live in Colorado smoking weed all day long while snowboarding and blowing away your inheritance, enjoy it while the snow and inheritance lasts.(the snow won’t last because hippee’s all believe in global warming)
