Gore leads the Lemmings through the Snow

UPDATE: The Goracle and the lemmings certainly won’t be happy when this study is completed. In a nutshell: a big part of warming may turn out to be due to changes in the micro-environments within 10 meters of the foundational groundlevel instrumentation as they were ‘updated’ over the years.  Moved closer to buildings for convenience, had air-conditioning exhausts installed nearby, had the area around them paved.  Good science requires good, consistent measurement; this ain’t it.

Al Gore visited Washington to testify about Global Warming (now renamed ‘Climate Change’ to save embarrassment).  He did so in the middle of a snow and ice storm about which Obama criticized the city’s response to.

Of course, I’m sure Al failed to mention that his favorite scientist and his methods were blasted by his previous supervisor.  Or that the Snowy owl and the Arctic gull are delighting birders in making appearances father south than they’ve been seen for generations.

Al continues to lead the lemmings with the arrogance of one who is certain in his ignorance that man is powerful enough and evil enough to defeat the planetary biosphere and global solar effects with biologically active CO2.  Ironically, even some liberals are starting to mock the Goracle.  Possibly they realize fully giving into to the environmental hysterics will crush the economy further and, while that would have been OK on Bush’s watch, ‘the One’ has come and mustn’t suffer that fate.

  1. Global Warming/Climate Change is all about a change of 4 degrees farenheit and how it will affect the poles and other weather patterns. The fact there was an ice storm in January is irrelevent. Of course there was an ice storm. It is winter!

Maybe when Polar Bears show up California people will be thrilled to see them too? Not sure what you are getting at here with the snowy owl and gull comment.

  2. Mike uses a device he has used in the past, which is a favorite of those who like to ignore a fundamental fact of living beings.

The device is to obfuscate the difference between climate & weather. “Weather” is what the atmosphere is doing on a given day, “climate” is a long-term weather pattern. Just as the meal I had last night is not my diet, the specific atmospheric activity this morning is not weather.

The fundamental fact is that all living beings consume resources and then emit waste products that are toxic to them (or else they wouldn’t be waste).

I do agree with Mike that climate change is not a problem, but it is a symptom. The problem is overpopulation. We’re not going to solve that one, the political will won’t exist for that task until it’s far too late.

I wonder if our bones will be displayed in the museums of the next dominant life-form on this planet.

  3. (Obvious) Correction, for which I fully expect to be taken to task

“Just as the meal I had last night is not my diet, the specific atmospheric activity this morning is not” climate

  4. Can you back up why you think we have a problem with overpopulation?

It might interest you to research the study that shows how the entire world population could fit into Texas quite comfortably with the density being that of an average suburb. Have you ever thought about how much food would be produced if we took all the cropland in the world that gets used in Corn Syrup for Soda(junk calories) and devoted it to food resources. How about cutting beef consumption in half and feeding 9 times as many people with the food resources? How about putting a garden in your yard, or on your roof, or harvesting seaweed.

I submit that we don’t have an overall population problem. We have an allocation of resources and wasteful lifestyle problem.

  5. …And then you have people with obvious mental issues like this woman who thought it would be a good idea to have 8 embryos implanted in her body after she already has 6 kids.

  6. No: our eco-friendly people camee up with boifuels so we cam burn our food rather than eat it.

Of course, the more people are educated, the fewer kids they have. And, of course, Western social security systems are completely dependent on paying population growth (as opposed to the non-paying growth we are getting across the border).

The current dyanamic is the overrunning and bankruptcy of ‘enlightened’ populations by poorly educated, ‘unenlightened’ people.

  7. Isn’t that a Chinese proverb or something Mike. He who burns his food goes hungry, or something like that?

Someone should tell that to the people of Haiti.

  8. Regardless if I agree with the article, the title to this article is one of my favorites.
