If the original Tea Party movement had been boycotted as thoroughly by the press of the day, we’d still be British subjects. But that was in the old days of journalism, before the ‘all the news that’s fit to print’ crowd took over.
After just a few days since the Santilli rant and call for Tea Party protests, fiscally responsible volunteers the Left uses paid professionals) organized and ran over 60 protests across the country. A total estimate of attendance for these internet and word of mouth managed event- setup in 4 days and in miserable weather on a workday in many locations- was between 40,000 and 60,000 people. Despite being a pretty slow news day (other than the market’s confidence in Obama’s solutions sent it to a 12-year low and Michelle’s toned arms), none of the major MSM thought there was anything newsworthy here. The MSM has their Big Brother and they aren’t about to rock the boat. Of course, the Pro-life movement (of which I am not part) has faced this for years; they’ll turn out 100,000 in DC and not get a single thing in news coverage.
For some coverage of these ‘Top Secret’ events, you can go to some of the links below. But I warn you: doing so may result in your fidelity to ‘the One’ may be called into question:
St. Louis – Chicago – Washington, DC – Denver – Oklahoma City – Santa Monica(??)
San Diego, North Carolina, Nashville, Portland, Shelby – Greenville – Tulsa – Lansing
That’s just a few of the locales. I did finally find one thing in the LA Times online; describing the events from a ‘new technology’ standpoint, in the technology section. The politics weren’t as important, you see.
