I have done very little posting among my Political Inquirer brethern of late, because things have gone nuts in the political trenches with the Congressional critter slinking home for a visit. Those Tea Party organizations that the media and establishment in both parties were confident would dry up and blow away, have exploded in activity. Our group- North Texas Tea Party- serves as a bridge group between Dallas and Collin County in Texas; we also serve as a ‘Special Ops’ team (because of some of our highly skilled people) and Rapid Deployment Force. All of this organization has been put together by volunteers with very little experience at ‘street action’ (protest, rallies, etc.) We have found our opponents organized by Peace Center professionals, Acorn hired guns, and MoveOn (Soros)- funded summer interns who do this stuff full time. AND WE HAVE THOROUGHLY KICKED THEIR ASSES!
No point going through what’s written else elsewhere. But here are the bullet points for just this month, with the links:
- We kicked MoveOn’s tail outside Sen. Cornyn’s offices; we surprised them and beat them there (we have our sources :) Tea Partiers outnumbered them 8 to 1 as we reached our respective maximums.
- Ten of Dallas Tea Party people (3 of us in the NTTP linker group) met with Sen. Kay Baily Hutchison after her staff refused to meet our leaders when we rallied at her office July 17th. Most of us were NOT overly impressed with her; too much of Washington has rubbed off on her.
- Our crew went to two AARP ‘Town Halls’ which were intended to tell seniors how wonderful Obamacare would be; the rebellion there (a lot from people we’d never seen) was so classic, our video of it went viral and Bill O’Reilly used it to grill the AARP National Policy Director who was forced to disavow group support for the current package. Obama claimed the AARP supported it the next day and was rebuffed by AARP leadership. 60,000 people canceled AARP memberships in July.
- The MoveOn/ACORN/Peace Center did their best to set themselves up on their turf, and spent some bucks to boost their numbers ($11 – $16 per hour, based on scores of local Craiglist want ads clearly from MoveOn) In that event, they outnumbered us for awhile…by meeting over 2 hours before the event. But it ended up 3-2 our side, against their biggest crowd of 140.
- The next day, they tried again and took a brutal 10-12 to 1 beating in rally participants. Two thousand people came to the town hall and 90% were adamantly opposed to Obamacare and pretty peaceable about it (Rep. Sessions is on our side).
- They don’t learn; tried one more time today. They could muster only 20; by now we weren’t even trying and still had 30 people show up to overmatch them. They’re spending money to look pathetic.
This has been tiring but really enjoyable; as an incurable conservative even in the 60s, I missed out on the street actions then. I’m making it up now. Still it be good to see the terrified Congresspeople to limp out of town so a lot of this silliness can end.
