Why didn’t I think of that?

British inventor Josh Silver, a former professor of physics at Oxford University, has come up with a game-changer of a product design with his water-lensed glasses.
Silver has devised a pair of glasses which rely on the principle that the fatter a lens the more powerful it becomes. Inside the device’s tough [...]

If pitbulls are good for republicans, why not for democrats??

Sarah Palin got lots of adoration for her pitbull with lipstick comments and actions and even now, after the loss, some still suggest that her pitbull style is just what is needed for the future of the republican party.
These same folks, strangely enough, seem to object to the pitbull without lipstick style that Rahm Emanuel [...]

Sarah Palin’s future?

My wife came up with an interesting thought about Sarah Palin’s future in the republican party:
She is the Jesse Jackson of the right. Supported by a fringe, perennially in the spotlight, no actual future, except maybe she replaces Elizabeth Hesselhoff on The View.
Sarah Jessie Palin.
Yeah.

Prop 8 passes – the end of the “M” word?

Out in wildly-liberal, gay-friendly California, the voters have said no to gay marriage in a way that seems likely to stand for quite a while.
For this I blame those gays who want the M word – Marriage – more than they actually want equal civil rights. I have met quite a few of them.
It is [...]

The Symbolism of the Victory Parties

Obama is planning for a million people at Grant Park in downtown Chicago, with 65,000 in the “invited” zone.
McCain is inviting 3,000 VIPs to the privacy of the Biltmore Resort.
Yep, that really does say it all.

Finally

McCain shows 10 on Intrade this morning.
I wonder what Intrade would show on The Rapture?

Not even a blip

I went to look at 270towin.com
There is not even a little red blip on the chart anymore.
What type of drapes would you like in there Mr. Obama?

Why he did it – and a big Thank You

The interesting thing is not that Colin Powell did it – endorsed Obama – but why he did it.
He said his reasons are “narrowing” of the party, moved too far to the right, the focus on the irrelevancies and the tone.
So I give a big Thank You to: Mike, Benjamin, Jonolan, netlosh, Limbaugh, Savage, and [...]

“Liberal” quit working, so now it’s “socialist”

John McCain said: “At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives,” McCain said in a radio address. “They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not [...]

Joe, meet Sam

From Huffington Post:
“Joe the Plumber Meets Sam the Gas Station Guy
John Seery
Posted October 16, 2008 | 06:00 PM (EST)
A few days ago (which is to say, prior to the Wednesday night presidential debate), I met Sam. Joe the Plumber should really meet Sam, too.
I was jogging away on the treadmill at my local gym when [...]

McCain on the Letterman show.

Did you see that? Was it not painfully embarassing to watch?
Letterman behaving like a stern schoolmaster.
McCain behaving like a 14 year old caught stealing porn.
“I screwed up. I screwed up.”
Bowing, kissing Dave’s boots, kissing …….
You really want THIS GUY to negotiate with Putin?
Letterman For President

John McCain’s terrorist buddy: “Kill the sons of bitches”

In 1994, long after he got out of prison, “G. Gordon Liddy had this terroristic advice for people just after the standoff with the Branch Davidians at Waco:
“Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for [...]

republican health care: the results

“U.S. infant mortality ranks lower
By Mary Engel
Los Angeles Times
Article Launched: 10/15/2008 05:08:13 PM PDT
After a century of declines, the U.S. infant mortality rate barely budged from 2000 to 2005, causing the United States to slip further behind other developed countries despite spending more on health care, according to a report released Wednesday.
The rate was 6.86 [...]

An interesting article from TPM

This is a short clip:
“For decades, the Republicans have been more than happy to patronize to the bigots and haters, to the rabid anti-intellectuals, the xenophobes and the just generally stupid. Heretofore, they’ve used those people, but they never let them run the party. In recent years, however, they let the camel get [...]

Here’s some real “vote fraud”

“Ex-GOP Operative in New Hampshire Indicted
By Zachary Roth – October 14, 2008, 11:48AM
Former Republican operative James Tobin has been indicted for making false statements to the FBI in connection with the bureau’s investigation of a phone-jamming scheme in New Hampshire in 2002, according to court filings examined by TPMmuckraker.
Update: Here’s the indictment. It contains two [...]

Why are they desperate? Here’s why:

“Intrade markets are historically 100% predictive in US elections when the prices are higher than 70 or lower than 30.” ———-Intrade
Today:
Obama 77
McCain 22

“The Plumber” was faked – more McCain campaign dishonesty.

David Letterman does a thing using clips. Last night he had McCain say that he was in bed with Lieberman naked.
The clip and quotes of the plumber are about the same.
“.. anyone who manages to watch the video will notice two distinct events. First, the plumber asks Obama the question. Then there’s a cut of [...]

From the Nobel prize winner:

“Krugman has been a harsh critic of the Bush administration and the Republican Party in The New York Times, where he writes a regular column and has a blog called “Conscience of a Liberal.”
He has come out forcefully against John McCain during the economic meltdown, saying the Republican candidate is “more frightening now than he [...]

Weatherman prosecutor says Obama-Ayers link is BS

NY Times in today’s paper runs a letter to the editor about the story from William Ibershof, the lead prosecutor of the Weatherman.
“As the lead federal prosecutor of the Weathermen in the 1970s (I was then chief of the criminal division in the Eastern District of Michigan and took over [...]

Sarah Palin – she’s ready for Washington!

“The Palin’s two-story, four bedroom, four bath home on Lake Lucille is worth $552,000. “Todd Palin built the house with friends who were contractors, he said in a recent television interview.”
At the same time the mighty Todd was building the house, the Wasilla Sports Complex was under construction right down the road. Just who were [...]
