Anderson Cooper: The CIA asset?

The gossip-news-whatever magazine Radar has found out quite a few dirty secrets recently. The most recent one, though, is probably the most interesting: Anderson Cooper, the silver haired CNN anchor, has been outed as being a former trainee in the CIA. This may not seem like huge news since he never became a full scale agent, but perhaps it is his job to infiltrate the high levels of journalism and mold public opinion? It may be a little too much of a “conspiracy theorist” and it probably isn’t his active job, but if before the debate the CIA heads told Cooper to watch out for Ron Paul, that could explain CNN’s brash and almost obvious hatred of the constitutionalist congressman.

This may not be a big story, it may be, but either way, Cooper was involved with the CIA. I recently read Murray Rothbard’s Betrayal of the American Right, and in it he said that he knew two CIA agents in the 1970’s who said “Once a CIA agent, always a CIA agent.” (I’m paraphrasing a bit.)

I’m far more suspicious of Mr. Cooper now than I was, but I guess we should all be watching out for the guy who withstands hurricanes at full force.

  1. and he’s gay. maybe that’s why the CIA let him go?

  2. He’s a Twink

  3. Ron Paul MUST be stopped! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK-QR88yfOE

  4. Old, old, old news. Who didn’t know that he interned with the CIA during summers in college?

Journalism and espionage both use a lot of the same skill set - building sources, working them for information, traveling to investigate for yourself, interviews/interrogations, cameras, etc. Kind of makes sense that he would choose one when the other didn’t work out.

  5. “but if before the debate the CIA heads told Cooper to watch out for Ron Paul”

Yes, that Ron Paul, he’s such a big threat that CNN really needs to watch out for him.

I’m a Ron Paul fan but lumping RP into this rhetoric is not good for the RP fans.

Does mainstream media have a bias against guys like RP and Kucinich? Sure, probably.

Is it because they are secretly still working for the CIA? Pffft.

  6. My guess has always been a faction of the CIA runs the domestic propaganda office in Washington. Cooper very likely was trained by the CIA to fulfill the roll he currently doing. Nothing overt of course, it’s the CIA, covert yes. My guess is he is not James Bond, but travels around using his media credentials, and reports back on a monthly, weekly, daily schedule to his handlers exactly what he sees and hears. He is simply a spy in a reporters clothes. Kind of a variation on using the Embassy Staff. I’m sure he supports the Constitution when his handlers tell him to.

  7. He’s hawt and sexy

    I wanna do him

    cos I’m CIA too

  8. “Once a CIA agent, always a CIA agent.”

But he never was a CIA agent, only a “trainee.”

  9. totally agree with John’s comment, lol.

  10. I’d say it’s fairly obvious that the CIA role he was trained for is the very same one he plays at CNN. The “intelligence community” is very much engaged in “managing” what we see and hear in the news.
